Note: All of our previous information had reflected that this son of Charles Gregory Johnston and Mattie Redwine was born on February 24, 1894, and was named David Warren Johnston. However, his gravesite at Masonic Cemetery, in Pocahontas, near his father, Charles Gregory's grave, is adorned with a red marble gravestone that proclaims him to have been "Sgt. Warren D. Johnston, US Army Ordinance Corps, born February 24, 1895 - died January 12, 1919, at Camp Raratan, N. J." The marker is engraved with the insignia and various symbols of the Ordinance Corps.
